I was thrilled to get the call from Jenni that she was engaged and that she wanted me to capture her wedding day! I had the honor of capturing her sister's wedding the year prior, so it was humbling to hear that she loved my work and how I work enough to hire me for her own wedding. There's no greater compliment.
This wedding took place in Durham on a beautiful, classic, hot NC summer day during the 4th of July weekend. Planning for this kind of weather in July, this couple was smart and broke up the day into two halves with an early ceremony at Duke Chapel, and an evening reception at The Cookery. This break in between allowed the guests and wedding party (and photographer) time to relax, freshen up and even change before the reception. Since everyone had time to recharge and cool off, the reception was wide open with energy and fun! I highly recommend this strategy with couples getting married in south in the dead of the summer, if the logistics allow it.
